Stretching
Jobs with mainly sitting activities, lack of exercise and stress increasingly limit the range of action for the body. The specific Taekwond-Do gymnastics, a well balanced ratio of stretching and strengthening, enables the body to stretch and develop according to its natural potential.
Self defense
Every block, every punch, everything that’s learnt in Taekwon-Do, is self-defense. The training contains defense techniques, inner strength and self confidence. Someone who appears self confident and secure, will not get into unpleasant situations.
Hyong
In the fight against imaginary opponents – called Hyong – different defense and attack techniques are practiced. The difficulty depends on the grade of the Hyong. Hyongs require a fair amount of mental endurance. Coordination, movements and breath have to be optimized in the Hyong, to perform it powerful and precise.
Free Sparring
In order to block an attack or to counterattack, the eye has to capture the opponent’s intention right from the start. The highest priority is to practice without contact inside the Dojang. A perfectly mastered technique, that hits the opponent may cause serious injuries.
Breaking
The breakage test is an expression of the Do – the willpower. In order to perform a breakage test without injuries, enduring training and hardening, especially of punching points like fist, elbow, heels etc. and a precise technique are mandatory.
Meditation
Breath cleans the body and supplies energy. Breath is key to many diseases. Stress manifests itself in flat breathing. The breath-training at the end of every Taekwon-Do lesson accumulates the energies that built up during the training in the underbelly and avoids a misrouting of these energies.
